Our responsibilities

  • Requests made through this channel remain confidential between the client (yourself) and us (the Civil Litigation Disclosures team).
  • We are not obliged to dislose details of your requests as a result of any Freedom of Information enquiries.
  • We may however provide statistical information as a result of such requests, including but not limited to the search items offered/purchased, and financial statistics.
  • All financial transactions are made outside of this system using the Pay360 Advanced Payments service. No card details are held within this system.
  • Our process is as transparent as possible and we will aim to always keep you informed, via this system and/or email, as to the status of your enquiry.

Your responsibilities

  • In order to use this service you must be a member, or legal respresentative of, a registered UK insurer.
  • You are only permitted to use this service as part of an ongoing insurance or civil litigation claim process.
  • You must not be an employee or freelance contractor for any news-related or media group.
  • Before contacting us to check on the status of an enquiry, please log in to this system and check for yourself; as previously mentioned we aim to be as transparent as possible regarding your enquiry.
  • Where payment is required, this system will allow you to make it digitally using a credit/debit card. At present no other means of payment is available. Expedient payment will help ensure faster processing of your enquiry.

Response times

  • Many enquiries raised can be dealt with completely within 2 weeks, however activities beyond our control can delay this, sometimes significantly, for example:
    • An ongoing court case which could affect the disclosability of any of the items we offer for purchase.
    • Delays in processing Police documentation, be they due to technical issues or resource availability.
    • Handling searches for older incidents may incur additional time due to record archiving and data protection activities beyond our control.
  • There may be delays in processing if insufficient information is provided in your initial request. Please watch for notifications from our system should we request additional information. Failure to provide timely responses to these may result in your enquiry being placed on hold.
